The 296 GTB supercar has compact dimensions, measuring 4.56 meters long, 1.95 meters wide and 1.18 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.60 meters. Inspired by the Ferrari 250 LM of 1963, the new Maranello car features modern and original lines, with a “monolithic” look, as defined by the brand itself, and a short wheelbase (50 mm less than the 488 GTB and F8 Tributo), as well as muscular wheel arches and a vertical rim. The bright drop-shaped blocks are accompanied by two boxes at the front and a cooling duct for the brakes.
At the bottom, there is a large air intake that runs the entire width of the car, with a small fin suspended in the center, reminiscent of Formula 1 solutions. In the back, there is a ring-shaped reinforcement arch – painted in body colour – with a glass cover for the engine compartment, a horizontal element surrounding the taillights and spoiler, a single central exhaust outlet, a bumper protruding upwards and an active centre spoiler housed in the taillight connecting compartment. Inside, the Ferrari 296GTB is elegant and minimalist , following the aesthetics of the latest models, with the exception of the steering wheel. Its oversized controls give the feeling of being able to be driving a formula 1. The dashboard features an all-digital interface derived from the SF90. The seats of this supercar and various interior surfaces are upholstered in Italian leather, showing the more luxurious side of the coupe. In the center console there is a lever inspired by the old Ferrari door gearboxes. There is also a small compartment in the center console that holds the GTB’s ignition key. Behind the cabin of the 296GTB is a turbocharged V6 engine mated to a plug-in hybrid system. Together, the petrol engine and electric motor produce 830 horses that are sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GTB is also capable of running exclusively on electric power, thanks to a 7.45 kWh battery located under the ground and allowing the car to drive for 25 kilometers with the electric mode activated. Its 8,000 rpm offers a visceral driving experience. With a capacity to reach 0 to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 330 kilometers per hour. In addition to the four driving modes – Drive, Hybrid, Performance and Qualify – which offer ever-increasing performance characteristics, the 296GTB is equipped with electric power steering and an electronic braking system.
